The Chelsea vs Liverpool live stream sees two of English football's big-hitters going head-to-head for the Carabao Cup at Wembley.

Liverpool will be aiming to win their 10th Carabao Cup title when they take on Chelsea – two more than any other side in England. The Reds last lifted the trophy in 2022 and have dispatched Leicester, Bournemouth, West Ham and Fulham on their way to the final. Jurgen Klopp's side are yet to keep a clean sheet in the competition, so expect goals here under the Wembley arch.

Speaking of goals, Chelsea put six past Middlesbrough in the second leg of their semi-final to win 6-2 on aggregate. It followed a run of wins against AFC Wimbledon, Brighton, Blackburn, and Newcastle to set up a repeat of that 2022 final, which Liverpool won on penalties after 120 goalless minutes. Thiago Silva and Trevoh Chalobah are the only remaining players from the Chelsea starting XI that day – will they go one better this year?

Here's how the teams line up:

Chelsea XI: Petrovic (GK); Gusto, Disasi, Colwill, Chilwell; Caicedo, Enzo; Palmer, Gallagher, Sterling; Jackson

Liverpool XI: Kelleher (GK); Bradley, Van Dijk, Konate, Robertson; Endo, Mac Allister, Gravenberch; Elliott, Diaz, Gakpo.

Liverpool and Chelsea will clash in the mouth-watering final of the EFL Cup 2024 at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, February 25. Chelsea will be seeking swift revenge for the 2022 EFL Cup final loss against Liverpool on penalties but face an uphill battle against high-flying Reds.

Jurgen Klopp's men are leading the English Premier League table having lost only two matches this season while Mauricio Pochettino's Blues are struggling in the tenth position. Liverpool enjoyed a sensational run in the league this month by adding three or more goals in their last three games.

Chelsea suffered a 4-1 away defeat against Liverpool when both teams last faced each other in the Premier League earlier this month. The Blues have won just one league game this month but will be hopeful for a fighting game against injury-ridden Liverpool who miss the majority of their key players for the London trip on Sunday.

Something barmy always happens when Liverpool and Chelsea meet in the EFL Cup final. Two years ago, Reds keeper Caoimhin Kelleher scored the winning penalty. Rewind another 17 years and the Blues nicked a thriller in extra-time (after John Arne Riise scored the fastest ever goal in a League Cup final, which Steven Gerrard cancelled out with a late clanger). You might want to buckle up for this one.

It's also a potentially career-defining game for Mauricio Pochettino, who's never won a trophy in England before. The Argentine, whose lack of silverware has long been used as a stick to beat him with, reached the Carabao Cup final once before, but fell short against Chelsea.

Jurgen Klopp's men dished out a 4-1 hiding when the teams met two weeks ago, but a lot has changed since then. Diogo Jota and Dominik Szoboszlai, two of the scorers on that day, have joined a lengthy Liverpool injury list, while Chelsea have found a bit of form, going three games unbeaten.

Ironically, it's an injury that seems to have turned the west London team's fortunes around. Thiago Silva's absence forced a reshuffle at the heart of defence, and the tweak appears to have been transformational. Could this be the launchpad for the entire Todd Boehly era, let alone their season?

Jürgen Klopp will be looking for his side to claim a record-extending 10th triumph in this tournament, with the German coach still in the mix in four tournaments in what is set to be his last season in charge of the Merseysiders.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are hunting their first silverware under the stewardship of head coach Mauricio Pochettino, with the west Londoners hoping to see a quick return on their lavish transfer spending.

The showpiece showdown is a repeat of the 2021-22 EFL Cup final, which Liverpool won in dramatic style via penalties.

Chelsea and Liverpool meet at Wembley on Sunday in a rematch of the 2021-22 EFL Cup final with the first trophy of the 2023-24 season at stake. The Reds won on penalties two years ago and are favorites for this one given their superior showing in the Premier League so far. The Blues are targeting European qualification via the domestic cups and this is the most obvious route to that with Mauricio Pochettino also potentially one game away from his first major title in English soccer.

On their route to the final, Chelsea have seen off AFC Wimbledon, Brighton and Hove Albion, Newcastle United, Blackburn Rovers and Middlesbrough. The Londoners can now target a sixth success for the club in this competition, but also know that a loss would make them the first club in English history to lose six domestic cup finals consecutively.

Liverpool have seen off Leicester City, Bournemouth, West Ham United and Fulham to get here, and Jurgen Klopp's men are still on course for a quadruple with Premier League, UEFA Europa League, EFL Cup and FA Cup success. The Reds could also hit double figures for League Cup triumphs and this will be a 14th final outing. Liverpool are unbeaten in eight against Chelsea but seven of those were draws, and two of them came at Wembley so expect this to be tight.

Benoit Badiashile, Reece James, Wesley Fofana and Marc Cucurella are all injured and unlikely to recover for this one. Thiago Silva is also a doubt although Djordje Petrovic could start ahead of Robert Sanchez. However, Carney Chukwuemeka, Lesley Ugochukwu and Romeo Lavia will also miss out.

Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ben Doak, Stefan Bajcetic, Joel Matip, Diogo Jota, Thiago Alcantara and Curtis Jones are all out. Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez missed the midweek win over Luton Town while Dominik Szoboszlai faces a late fitness check. Cody Gakpo and Harvey Elliott could both start at Wembley on Sunday.

Jurgen Klopp’s long goodbye at Liverpool takes in a trip to Wembley Stadium this weekend for the first of three potential cup finals in his final season with the club.

An improving Chelsea looks sure to provide a tougher test than relegation-threatened Luton, so being without goalkeeper Alisson Becker, defenders Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joel Matip, midfielders Dominik Szoboszlai and Curtis Jones, and attackers Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota is far from ideal.

Liverpool overwhelmed Chelsea in a 4-1 drubbing at Anfield in the league just three weeks ago, but the Reds’ injury situation means that game can no longer be a true barometer of what is to come on Sunday.

Chelsea, meanwhile, is on the up, with its expensively assembled squad seemingly starting to click. A battling draw at Manchester City on Saturday, which ended the champion’s 11-match winning run in all competitions, came after back-to-back away wins at Aston Villa then Crystal Palace.

And Chelsea will hardly be short of motivation after losing both the FA Cup final and League Cup final to Liverpool in 2022, each time on penalties after a 0-0 draw.

Those wins set up Liverpool’s tilt at a quadruple of major trophies that season, only to be beaten to the Premier League title by a point by City and then lose the Champions League final to Real Madrid.

The first major trophy of the English football season is the prize on offer this afternoon as Chelsea face Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley. It is a repeat of the 2022 final in this competition, when Liverpool won a remarkable penalty shootout 11-10 after a goalless 120 minutes.

Chelsea go in search of the first trophy of the Todd Boehly era, while Mauricio Pochettino is also yet to pick up silverware as a manager in England. The Blues go into the match as underdogs, but will have taken plenty of confidence from their performance last time out, when holding Manchester City to a draw.

As for Liverpool, they are still in the hunt for four trophies as they look to send Jurgen Klopp out on a high in his final season in charge. They beat Chelsea 4-1 just a few weeks ago, but they do now have a huge injury list to contend with. Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Dominik Szoboszlai all miss out on the squad, in a significant triple blow.

The Blues are gunning for their first trophy of the Todd Boehly era and a victory today would give Mauricio Pochettino something to point towards during what has been an inconsistent first season in charge at Stamford Bridge so far.

While they have impressed in some of the bigger games under the Argentine this term and enjoyed a rousing resurgence of late, the Reds are on a roll. The imminent departure of Jurgen Klopp has set up a grandstand finish to the season for Liverpool, with his team currently top of the Premier League table.
